Ponting and cavalry raring to go

Australian Captain Ricky Ponting says despite their series win over South Africa they will be approaching the test with the same intensity as any other.

The Aussie's are hard at work in the nets ahead of the third and final test against the Proteas at Newlands in Cape Town on Thursday. Australia has clinched the series after wining the two previous matches.

Ponting says the pressure was never on them to win in South Africa.

"Like I said right fr! om the start I thought this year the majority of expectation was on the South Africans. We just came over here with a very simple plan with the way we wanted to play our cricket and we executed things very well in the first two test matches. We still want to improve on that and give ourselves the every opportunity for a good result."

Meanwhile Imraan Khan will be making his test debut for the national side. Khan showcased his skills for the South African invitational team that played a warm up game against the m! en from down under.

Pointing says they have done t! heir hom e work since their last meeting with Khan.

"Us knowing very little about him going into the first innings of the game was probably the reason why he got off to such a good start. Since he was named in the squad we have been picking his technique to pieces and we have got certain plans to deal with him that we need to execute very well tomorrow."
